Farm Service Elevator has a temporary opportunity in the role of General Labor. An Affiliate of Life-Science Innovations, Farm Service Elevator processes 6.5 million bushels of corn to manufacture over 350,000 tons of poultry feed sold primarily to commercial farms and independent poultry growers throughout Minnesota.

The General Labor position is responsible for completing general housekeeping and preventative maintenance tasks as needed to maintain cleanliness of the inside and outside of the Feed Mill.  

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Keeps all grounds of the feed mill clean, including but not limited to sweeping and moving grain bins as well as lawn work in the Falls/Summer/Spring and snow removal in the winter 
  • Ensures that housekeeping and preventative maintenance is done
  • Operates scissor lift, forklift, skid loader, and pay loader (if over the age of 18)
  • Operates corn dryers and assist with scale duties
  • Assists Feed Mill Operators as needed
  • Ensures equipment is in safe operating condition and operates all machinery in compliance with FSE safety and OSHA standards
The Ideal Candidate Summary:
  • High school diploma/GED or an Associates degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Experience operating skid loader and forklift preferred
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds, occasional bending and lifting required; able to stand on feet for extended periods of time; climb ladders frequently
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
This position works various shifts including evenings and weekends. This position will qualify for 401k plan and Earned Sick and Safe time. Pay Range: $19.42/hour.
